POOR PERFORMANCE

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has publicly criticised his players after the 3-0 defeat at the hands of struggling Portsmouth, who aren't exactly a team full of Lionel Messis!.

COYLE RULES OUT ROMEU

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has said that the rumours linking him with a move for Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu are well beyond the mark. The 20-year-old former Barcelona midfielder joined Chelsea in the summer last season.

COYLE BACKS MUAMBA RETURN

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has said that there is every chance that midfielder Fabrice Muamba could play again for the club.

There have been many rumours that Fabrice Muamba could have played his last game ever after being diagnosed with a genetic heart condition.

He collapsed on the pitch in the match against Tottenham a few weeks ago. Doctors said that Muamba was almost dead for up to an hour until he was brought back to life. He was recently discharged from the hospital and is now continuing his recovery from the condition that almost took his life.

COYLE CONFIDENT IN BOLTON

After suffering heavy 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea last weekend, Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has said that he is extremely bullish at the prospect of getting some points off Manchester City at the Etihad stadium.

Bolton will be visiting Manchester city this weekend just after their tough fixture against Chelsea last weekend. Bolton were thoroughly outplayed by Chelsea and there is a real prospect of the same happening in the match against Manchester city as well.

COYLE PLEASED THE FANS ARE BACKING HIM

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has said that he is very much pleased to see the fans still backing him to get the results. Bolton Wanderers have been truly appalling this season, despite performing well last season.

They were expected to finish in the top eight this time around, but it has truly gone wrong for Owen Coyle and his men this season. His team have lost almost every match this season, and as a result of it, find themselves at the bottom of the table.

Coyle: Play for your futures

Bolton's squad are not just playing for Premier League survival but also their futures, manager Owen Coyle has warned.

The Trotters currently sit at the foot of the table are five point from safety and according to Coyle if things do not improve soon the "10 to 12" players who are out of contract in the summer will not be offered new deals anytime soon.

"I can totally understand why my owner would be reluctant to be handing out new contracts - until they are earned," said Coyle.

"That in itself should be a huge incentive for those players."

COYLE CALLS FOR CONSISTENCY

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has called for consistency from the match officials - and he isn't the first manager to do so this season, even though we're only 10 games in!

Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Andre Villas Boas have all questioned the referee in previous matches, and this time is was Coyle's turn.

Speaking after the match against Swansea, in which Bolton struggled to a 3-1 loss, Coyle was critical of the referee.

"I think the second yellow card, in fairness, Ricardo Gardner has tugged Dyer back. I think we all accept that normally results in a yellow card.

BOLTON COULD HAVE WON IT

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle says that his side should have won all the points against Aston Villa. Kevin Davies cancelled out Ashley Young's early free-kick in the 35th minute to turn the game on its head, with Bolton Wanderers finishing the game the stronger of the two.

Villa had dominated the opening 20 minutes, creating several chances to score alongside Young's strike, but Coyle's men showed resolve in coming back into the game and almost completely nullifying Villa's threat in the second half.

Coyle Keen on Wilshere

Owen Coyle will this week try to convince Arsenal that Jack Wilshere's development will benefit if he stays on loan at Bolton until the end of the year.

Wilshere has thrived at the Reebok, where Coyle thrust the 18-year-old into central midfield as his side achieved Barclays Premier League survival.

Coyle said: 'Jack wants to be an Arsenal player. All I'm saying is if Arsene Wenger and Arsenal don't think he'll play for them regularly at the start of the season, give me another six months. It would do him good. He would go back bigger and stronger. He is improving game by game.
