The Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has said that he will continue with his policy to rotate the squad after managing to impress sufficiently since taking over from Owen Coyle on a permanent basis. Since the sacking of Owen Coyle, Bolton Wanderers have been able to make their way up the table.
They are also undefeated in the last six matches, while they recently managed a spectacular 2-1 win over Blackburn in the Lancashire derby. This away victory against the former Premier league club has been met with a lot of confidence at the Reebok stadium.
There have been suggestions that Dougie Freedman has finally found his best starting line-up, but the manager has said that he will continue with his squad rotation policy in order to keep up with the busy fixture list. The huge number of games over the course of the season means that it is extremely difficult to maintain the fitness of a player without providing him with proper rest. For the recent match against Brighton, the manager made four changes to the team. Freedman paid tribute to his players, who finally brought an end to the four match streak without a victory. Bolton remain unbeaten under the management of the 38-year-old.
"My job is to make sure we're fresh going into games. I've got to use the squad. I know players want to play every week but it's up to me to manage them. It was a great team performance. From the first whistle, we passed the ball well and controlled the game. Credit to them, they kept on going and we knew they would come back at us," said the Bolton manager after the Blackburn win. This victory helped Bolton rise up to the 17th position in the table, this removing any relegation fears.
