Following the hard-fought 2-1 win over Aston Villa during the week, Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has said that he is looking forward to getting the same out of his players when they take on Sunderland during this weekend.
Even though Bolton were in the relegation zone, they were having two games in hand. Of course, the problem with having two games in hand is a fact that one should be able to make use of it and win the matches.
It is exactly what Bolton did during the week against Aston Villa when they came back from being 1-0 down in the match to win the match 2-1.
Martin Petrov scored the penalty, while David Ngog secured a win for Bolton in a highly entertaining match. The club still has a game in hand over the other relegation threatened teams like QPR and Wigan.
However, they will be having a difficult away trip in the form of Sunderland during the weekend, but Owen Coyle reckons that the club can easily target three points if they play their way they did against Aston Villa at the Villa Park. One advantage Bolton have this weekend is the fact that Sunderland do not have anything to play for the rest of the season unlike Aston Villa, who are also now in the relegation mix.
"I've six players who were involved against Aston Villa (in Tuesday's 2-1 win) that can't train today. But I'm hoping we can patch a few of them up and get them out there on Saturday. It's not rocket science to know Chris Eagles came off with an injury (at Villa). Mark Davies was touch and go to play beforehand, managed to come through it, but he's another one who is doubtful," Owen Coyle said ahead of the Sunderland match.
