Fabricio Coloccini has said that he is still focused on the Premier League survival more than anything else.
But the defender’s confident Newcastle United will quickly achieve their No1 objective – and then readjust their ambitions.
Coloccini and his team-mates were held to a 1-1 draw by Bolton Wanderers at St James’s Park on Saturday.
While Alan Pardew’s side had been looking for three points, there were positives to take from the game, not least because Newcastle played for 35 minutes with 10 men after Ryan Taylor’s dismissal.
And United go into Saturday’s home game against Everton with 36 points, and needing a couple more wins to all but guarantee another season of top-flight football.
