Bolton Wanderers will be looking to target promotion in the new season according to manager Dougie Freedman, who has said that the club will be looking to make a couple of signings before the end of the transfer window.
The club finished just outside the play-off positions under the management of Freedman last season. He is hoping that they can continue where they left off in the new season as well. So far, he has had very little money to spend on the transfer window. Jermaine Beckford, Alex Baptiste, and Rob Hall are some of the signings to have come to the Reebok stadium. They hope to be playing at old trafford next season.
Even though Freedman has admitted that he has so far brought in a couple of decent signings, he wants to improve even more by bringing in a couple of players. One of the major reasons for Bolton to get back into the transfer window is the news about midfielder Stuart Holden. The player has suffered numerous injury problems in recent years and just when it seemed that he was looking to get back to his former self, he has suffered yet another injury. The likes of David Ngog and Chung Yong Lee are not close to full fitness, which will be a problem for the manager in the first few months of the season.
"I believe we have made a couple of decent signings - we have not thrown money away. But there is room to grow. I think there is room for improvement. We are trying our best to do that. I know what it takes, how to use a squad, when to be strong. Our results have not been great in pre-season, but you don't want to peak too soon. I'm always excited about working with young players," said the manager, who will have to work with many young players this season.
